Burger Maker Broker of The Year 2009

Burger Maker is proud to announce its inaugural Broker of the Year given to the broker that best exudes the principals of Sales Growth, Leadership and Collaboration. This will not be an annual award but an award that honors a Broker that has done their job over and above what the expectation level set forth.

This year's winner of the inaugural Broker of the Year award is Fusion Sales Group of New England. Our broker for over 20 years, they been able to grow our business each and every year while influencing our sales plans with their go to market strategy. Led by Jimmy Donovan, Dave Soutter and John Engels, Fusion continues to work our line today like it did 20 years ago when they were first awarded the line. Thank you very much for your efforts.

Burger Maker for the 5th consecutive has won an award at the Certified Angus Beef Conference

Burger Maker for the 5th consecutive has won an award at the Certified Angus Beef Conference held annually celebrating the CAB brand and its participants in the brand. Burger Maker continues to be in the top 5 of Ground Beef Processors. On hand to accept the award are Chip Crenshaw and Bill Breslin, two regional managers from the company who have done a great hob selling CAB over the past 5 years.

HUMANE FARM ANIMAL CARE CERTIFIES NATIONAL BURGER PRODUCER

(Herndon, VA, U.S.A., June 10, 2009) -Humane Farm Animal Care® (HFAC), the leading non-profit certification organization improving the lives of farm animals in food production, announced today that Burger Maker (www.burgermaker.com) has been certified as a producer of Certified Humane Raised and Handled® burger patties.

Burger Maker purchases the raw material for its Natural Angus burger patties from Meyer Natural Angus Beef (www.meyernaturalangus.com), a Certified Humane Raised and Handled® producer of beef since 2003.

The certification from Humane Farm Animal Care will allow Burger Maker to provide regional and national retailers as well as colleges and universities with products from animals that were raised with ample space, shelter and gentle handling to limit stress as well as ample fresh water and a healthy diet of quality feed free from antibiotics and hormones.

“We chose to purchase meat from a company that was certified by Humane Farm Animal Care because of the rigorous approval process that ensures only the highest standard of animal welfare,” said Jamie Schweid, Executive Vice President, Burger Maker. “We believe that consumers in the marketplace demand food that is naturally raised to be free of hormones and antibiotics, and we’re proud to be associated with the great and trusted Certified Humane Raised and Handled emblem.”

Humane Farm Animal Care (HFAC) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of farm animals by certifying their humane treatment. Endorsed by more than 34 humane organizations, the Certified Humane Raised and Handled® program is nationally recognized as the Gold Standard for certifying animal welfare from birth through slaughter. Since the program was unveiled in May 2003, more than 65 companies, representing hundreds of farms and millions of farm animals, have been certified.

HFAC’s Animal Care Standards were developed by a veritable “Who’s Who” of national and international animal scientists and farm-animal welfare experts. Producer compliance with the HFAC standards is verified through annual on-site visits by HFAC’s third-party inspectors.

In only its second year as a Licensed CAB® Ground Beef Processor, Burger Maker emerged into 5th Place at this years awards. Burger Maker, based in Carlstadt, NJ, had a 87% sales increase over last. It has had great success in the foodservice industry and maximizes that by serving the entire U.S. East Coast.

Looking to build on its already rapid success, Burger Maker has put a major focus on the CAB Brand in the upcoming year. “Our goal is each year to grow our CAB poundage by at least 25% and continue to bring value to Brand.
